Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

The treatment plan includes impressions, X-rays, and photos, with a detailed 13-20 page report.

About the service

The treatment plan and cost estimate are created and documented in writing based on an assessment of the patient's needs, impressions, panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, as well as photographs. The 13-20 page report includes not only the treatment plan but also a detailed overview of possible treatment options.

The panoramic X-ray provides an assessment of the teeth, jawbones, and the condition of the temporomandibular joint.

The cephalometric X-ray (lateral skull view) gives information about the relative positions of the upper and lower jaws concerning each other and the face.

If necessary, a CT scan may be performed to examine the jawbones and any unerupted teeth or the temporomandibular joint in three dimensions.

Impressions are used to create models of the upper and lower arches for model analysis, which offers an accurate view of tooth positions, the degree of crowding, and bite discrepancies.

Intraoral photographs aid in the analysis of the teeth, the condition of the gums, and any soft tissue abnormalities.

Facial photographs are used to examine the profile, midface, and smile, allowing for a detailed facial aesthetic analysis. Today, treatment planning is primarily guided by facial aesthetics. If there is joint or muscle pain, the temporomandibular joint must also be examined.
